Deep sea pictures of the scenery down there and
sea animals are some of the most stunning and
amazing pics of the sea.
Underwater pictures and sea images show a
life like on another planet with a completely
different life form as we have in the dry
environ. Pictures of sea creatures and other
deep sea picture of deep sea life are very often
just incredible deep sea photo.
Until the late 19.th
Century the deep seabed
was considered a barren
desert where nothing lived except some strange
huge sea creatures such as a giant octopus.
The British scientist Edward Forbes came about 1840 to
the conclusion
that in the Mediterranean Sea
below around a depth of 550 meters is no more
life. Forbes had nets lowered into the water to
find something, but the spacing of the nets were
to big naturally he found nothing small. This
thinking changed over time when science
developed and animals were found deeper and
deeper.
The interest in the deep sea grew also for
economic reasons.
When the first cables between the continents
were sunk into the deep sea water, plenty of
problems were encountered, repeatedly cables
were damaged, now someone had to look and when
they checked they also found plenty of deep sea
creatures.
After the first deep sea pictures of strange
animals
were shown in the newspaper and magazines the
people started to get curious, because there is
almost no other field in photography which
produces more stunning pictures. Most of the
